Grüezi from Switzerland

The pilot phase for our 13th interoperable tolling service started already at the end of May and soon we will say: Hello Switzerland! And hello Liechtenstein.

The Swiss toll (LSVA) is a federal tax levied on all road types. The toll is levied on the entire public road network of:

  • Switzerland
  • the Principality of Liechtenstein
  • the German enclave of Büsingen
  • the Italian enclave of Campione d'Italia
  • on the customs road Basel-Mulhouse airport
  • on the Swiss transit routes on the right bank of the Rhine, with some exceptions
  • Not included is the tunnel "Großer St. Bernhard".

After successful completion of the pilot phase – already this summer – all Toll4Europe sales partners will be granted unrestricted use of the "Switzerland" toll product.

So, in addition to Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy and various tunnels, Toll4Europe will soon also be offering its reliable service in Switzerland. If you would like to have more information about our all-round carefree package, please feel free to contact us via our contact form.

Pilot phase in Italy successfully completed

The Toll4Europe OBU has successfully completed the pilot phase in Italy and is now accredited. This means that we are now allowed to deploy an unlimited number of OBUs and our twelfth interoperable tolling service is now available to our sales partners and customers. This brings us ever closer to our goal of connecting the whole of Europe.

12 January 2021

From Munich to Rome with one OBU!

New year, great news: We have received approval from the Italian freeway operators and are allowed to start the pilot phase for our twelfth interoperable tolling service with immediate effect: Italy!

The previous tests have shown that the Toll4Europe OBU can handle the specific communication standards for Italy as well as the CEN DSRC or GNSS communication solutions used in other countries.

With this news, we reach another milestone on the way to our goal: connecting the whole of Europe with just one on-board unit! We can't wait until we can make the service available to everyone once the pilot phase is completed.

So, in addition to Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary and various tunnels, Toll4Europe will soon be offering its service in Italy as well.

Toll4Europe stays fully committed to its mission, its people and its community

As many other companies in Germany and around the world, Toll4Europe is currently dealing with the consequences of the rapid expansion of the coronavirus.

We are aware of our liability towards our customers to deliver a smooth, high-quality level of services. To ensure this we took several measures in order to ensure the safety of our employees and our suppliers and also to take part to the common civic effort to stop the contagion among the European population.

Measures taken

  • We closely follow the guidelines of the German government and the federal state governments by promoting teleworking and offering flexibility to the employees.
  • We separate resources having common key skills and responsibilities for diluting the risks.
  • Face-to-face conversations and meetings are now fully digitalized.
  • All our key providers are requested to proceed the same way.

For some of our services, we also depend on the political decisions taken abroad, such as the closing of some borders which does not allow us to deliver OBUs in the same timeframe as usual.

By doing so, Toll4Europe ensures the maximum operational continuity and the future full recovery of its service.

Regardless of the current situation we do our best to support you in the same way we did before the crisis. At any time, we are ready to support you and answer your questions. Please contact us via the known channels of communication.

Take care and stay safe.
